Update (June 4): OTA blocking with the tvOS 26 beta profile is working again!
Install profile
From your device, tap the button below to download the Block OTA profile. Your device will notify you when the profile has been downloaded. Open Settings, tap the profile and follow the onscreen instructions to allow installation.
Check Software Update
To verify that the profile is working, go to Settings > General > Software Update. If you see “iOS is up to date,” it means you’ve successfully blocked OTA updates.
If the update still appears, make sure you’ve deleted any downloaded update in Settings → General → iPhone/iPad Storage. Then pull down on the Software Update page to refresh, and the update should disappear.
If you still see a new update available, go to Beta Updates and select Off. Then, navigate to Settings > General > iPhone Storage and check if a software update has been downloaded. If it has, select it and delete it from your iPhone or iPad.
Remove Block OTA Profile
In case you want your device to be able to update normally, you need to delete the OTA Block profile on your device as follows:
- Open the Settings app
- Go to General > VPN & Device Management
- Tap on the OTA Update Blocker profile, tap Remove Profile and enter your device passcode.
Now, check for updates in Settings - General - Software Update.
